When CABSAT began in 1995, mobile phones were something of a novelty, social media was non-existent and content creation was the preserve of major media companies. Today, we take virtual reality for granted, enjoy the ability to download a film in seconds via 5G and base entire careers on social media.

Throughout all these incredible changes, CABSAT has been at the forefront: the go-to event where the ever-developing satellite, media and entertainment industries could convene and constantly create the future.

In 2020, the event stands as the ultimate showcase for ground-breaking innovation and powerful solutions, relevant for all professionals who are looking to create, manage, deliver and monetise content on any platform.

The event attracts the most innovative and successful content creators, producers, broadcast technology providers, satellite distribution and content delivery companies, both from the MENA region and further afield. Exhibitors bring tech innovations every year, with 2020 expected to feature products such as set-top-boxes that can stream content offline, esports experiences, and video analytics and content protection solutions.

This is CABSAT’s 26th edition, with attendance expected to be at an all-time high. Last year, there were more than 14,000 attendees and over 450 exhibitors – 94 and 96 per cent of whom respectively plan to return in 2020. Altogether 115 countries were represented, and there were more than 75 international speakers at the Content Congress element of the show.
