The Role Job Summary The Assistant Manager – Logistics & Warehouse is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, ensuring efficient coordination of outbound shipments, and maintaining optimal warehouse workflows. This role focuses on shipping coordination, documentation accuracy, compliance with international trade regulations, and timely delivery of goods while optimizing costs and service levels. Key Responsibilities -Shipping Coordination -Plan, coordinate, and monitor all outbound shipments (local and international). -Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport providers to ensure timely dispatch and delivery. -Prepare and verify shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and export/import documentation. -Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or delivery issues. -Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international shipping standards. Warehouse Operations -Support daily warehouse activities including picking, packing, and dispatch. -Ensure proper inventory handling and storage to maintain product integrity. -Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize shipments based on deadlines and customer requirements. -Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control and cycle counts. Process Optimization -Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline logistics processes. -Implement best practices for warehouse and shipping operations. -Maintain accurate records and reports related to shipping performance and KPIs. Stakeholder Coordination -Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align shipping schedules. -Communicate with clients regarding shipment status and delivery timelines. -Handle escalations related to shipping or delivery issues. Compliance & Safety -Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. -Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
Requirements Qualifications & Skills -Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. -10–12 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or shipping coordination. -Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, Incoterms, and international trade regulations. -Proficiency in ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS). -Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. -Strong communication and negotiation abilities. -Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously. -Advanced knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
