The Role About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structures Inspector (Bridges & Highway Structures O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar on a long-term project managing the Strategic Highways Structures in the country. In this role, you will be responsible for the Inspections and Maintenance of bridges and highway structures across the network, ensuring their safety, structural integrity and serviceability in compliance with the contracts Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes bridges, footbridges flyovers/interchanges, iconic bridges, tunnels, monuments, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, masts and other highway structural assets. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with contractual requirements for Inspections, Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance, meeting all required SLAs and KPIs Effectively eliminating any qualify failures. Ensure accurate utilization of Asset Management System (MAXIMO) to manage and close out Work Orders (Wos) and Service Request (SRs) correctly and efficiently. Maintain accurate utilization of Bridge Management System (BMS) ensuring accurate inventory, inspection reporting, condition, and performance data. Carry out inspections to assess structural conditions, identify deterioration rates and report on structural and/or safety risks. Carry out different types of inspections including (safety inspections, general inspections, principal inspections and special inspections) of bridges and highway structures, ensuring accurate reporting and works recommendations. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated network operations and maintenance and maximize efficiency. Ensure compliance with relevant standards for inspection, maintenance and assessment in Qatar (which are mainly UK based). Support on advancements in bridge inspection technologies, maintenance techniques, and asset management practices and provide tangible input for innovation and efficiency.
Requirements Bachelors degree in civil or Structural Engineering (or strong relevant experience in highway structures inspections, preferably in Qatar or the Middle East) Proven experience in Operations and Maintenance contracts of bridges and other highway structures. Solid understanding of structural behavior and deterioration mechanisms in reinforced concrete, steel, composite and prestressed structures. Good knowledge in bridge asset management, condition assessment methodologies, and lifecycle planning. Experience with Enterprise Asset Management solutions (preferably MAXIMO) and Bridge Management Systems (preferably BMS). Knowledge in structural analysis, load rating, and assessment of existing structures. Knowledge of Structures Maintenance and Assessment standards (e.g., UK Inspection manual, UK DMRB, Qatar QRMM and relevant other standards). Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, develop and manage risk-based inspection programs. Excellent attention to detail and ability to inspect multiple structural assets and getting deliverables right first time. Effective communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and stakeholder engagement. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to travel frequently within Qatar for inspections, maintenance and other site activities.
