Contrary to the belief that bullying is common, thus benign and“normal” part of the child's and/or adolescent's experience, there is cumulating counter-evidence against this common belief.
The SalamabintHamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, in collaboration with Yale University, is hosting a Parenting Talk titled ‘Bullying Experience in Youth: Nature and Intervention'as a part of their comprehensive Early Childhood Development (ECD) Parenting Program. This talk will address both relationships between bullying and psychosocial adversity as risk factors for:
1. the involvement of bullying and outcomes of bullying experiences;
2. the association between bullying and suicidal ideations and behaviors and;
3. the principles of anti-bullying intervention.
Taking place in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the talks aim to support and empower parents of young children in the UAE.
