“Make a Difference Day” 2014 successfully took place on 23rd October at Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi and raised AED 280,000 for the
Make A Wish Foundation and the Emirates Wildlife Society.
Abu Dhabi, 26th October 2014. Beach Rotana organized its annual charity event, the Make A Difference Day, and provided the over 600 attendees with an afternoon filled with fun while raising AED 280,000 for the two selected beneficiaries.
The 14th edition of the Make A Difference Day was the biggest since its first execution in 2000. Over 600 guests found their way to Beach Rotana which was transformed into a fun village centred on the theme of “Superheroes”. From a bouncy castle, over an archery range, face painting to a raffle draw, families were spoilt for choice in regards to fun and exciting activities. As the highlight of the afternoon, three members of Beach Rotana's top management volunteered to be dunked into the Dunking Pool as a thrilling way to raise additional funds for the two beneficiaries.
This year, all proceeds went to EWS – WWF (Emirates Wildlife Society in association with World Wide Fund for Nature) – a non-profit organization that supports the conservation of nature and the environment in the UAE – as well as to the Make A Wish Foundation which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
“Our event has once again shown Beach Rotana's unremitting commitment to Making A Difference. We are excited that the event this year has even outdone its previous editions with a total of AED 280,000 raised for the two beneficiaries”, states Mr Jörg A. Hauri, General Manager of Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi.
