Abu Dhabi, 27th July 2014 – Ramadan is a time for reflection as well as to give back and support members of the society in need. During Ramadan, Beach Rotana encouraged all the employees to support the collection of clothes and dry food in order to fully embrace the spirit of the Holy Month.

This initiative was conducted throughout the whole month of Ramadan. Boxes for clothes and dry foods were set up in the colleagues' area of the hotel. Beach Rotana motivated suppliers to support the event with dry food items which were then – together with the items and clothes donated by colleagues – packed in individual boxes. The Grace Foundation, a UAE Red Crescent subsidiary, subsequently distributed the clothes as well as packets to UAE residents in need.

Jörg A. Hauri, the General Manager of Beach Rotana commented: “At Beach Rotana, we are aware of the responsibility we have towards our society. The spirit of Ramadan encourages our team of nearly 1000 colleagues to work together to support the ones who are less fortunate”.

“It is wonderful to see that during Ramadan each colleague is fully committed to the spirit of generosity. The donations we received support numerous families in the UAE and make their Holy Month a special one”, comments Sultan Mohamed Al-Shehhi, Manager of the UAE Red Crescent.

The Ramadan clothing and dry food collection is only one of the many ways Beach Rotana aims to support the community each year.
