Capri Sun & Yoplait present the BizKidz Family Fun Day, a unique entrepreneurship program, which nurtures young minds of students and teaches them how to become strong future leaders.
The event will be held for a day on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at GEMS Royal Dubai School in Mizhar Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The BizKidz Family Fun Day is in Association with Mother, Baby and Child Magazine Community CPI and the Red Crescent Society Dubai and is further supported by The Children's Place, Western Union, Kidville and Pink Pepper.
There have been various entrepreneur competitions organized for secondary school students. BizKidz Challenge however is the first of its kind for children in the primary schools. The 3 participating schools for the 2014 competition are – Al Diyafa High School, Our Own English High School & GEMS Royal Dubai School that is also the hosting venue. The intention is to grow this competition in the following years to a cross Dubai competition involving many schools.
The BizKidz concept is designed to support project-based learning. It provides framework of learning that encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. And emphasizes on intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and the real world. It fosters the development of skills for communication, teamwork, intercultural understanding and global engagement - essential qualities for young people who are becoming global leaders. It builds upon the knowledge, skills and attitudes developed in the Primary Years.
Over 1000 students of year 5&6 took part at the BizKidz challenge 2014. Teams of 7-8 students worked on their business plans for their game stalls and faced various selection rounds within their schools. In the semifinal rounds BizKidz judging panel selected the top 10 teams of each school. Teams were judged on the business planning, team management, teamwork, financial planning. Top 30 teams will compete to win the BizKidz Entrepreneur tittle, and become young entrepreneurs for a day by running their game stalls at the family fun day.
The winners will be selected based on the profits earned by the team at the family fun day. 25% of their overall profits will be donated to Red Crescent to support refugee children in Syria. The top 3 teams will be awarded with trophies & medals whereby, the winning team will retain 100% of the profits earned by them, the 1st runner up retains 75% of the profits and the 2nd runner up get 50% of their profits earned, along with fun prizes from Adventure HQ.
The BizKidz Family Fun Day will be a family feature 30 exciting games stalls run by the students, a bouncing caste, face painting, fashion shows, a photo booth, toddlers' corner etc. The silver sponsor “The children's place” will also be hosting a fashion show, featuring school's children as models. Visitors will get to win shopping vouchers from this prestigious brand.
The BizKidz Family Fun Day is free & open to public attendance. Everyone is encouraged to support this community charity event, which raises funds through the game stalls run by the school children. All visitors will be able to play the games through purchase of coupons available at door. In addition, various food & beverage stalls will be available.
