International Federation of Interior ArchitectslDesigners (IFI) 

APID President Farida Abdallah Kamber Al Awadhi and Executive Director, Linda Merieau, attended the 26th biannual General Assembly of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 3&4, 2014. The General Assembly (GA) marked the 50th anniversary of the IFI and saw the current Board proposing a significant transformation of the organizational structure in order to bring the activities and programs closer to its members at national association level.

The gathered delegates undertook a comprehensive review of the work of the previous two years, and honored the inauguaral group of IFI fellows who have distinguished themselves due to outstanding service to the interiors community. This GA provided APID an excellent opportunity to connect with other associations and gain valuable insights into how others have addressed shared challenges making the profession stronger. Collaboration at the international level ensures we can advance policies and enhance the practice of interior design worldwide for the benefit of all.
