Costa Coffee celebrates Dubai winning the Expo 2020 with free cookies for customers

Today(29 November) and tomorrow (30 November) Costa Coffee, the international coffeebrand under the franchise of Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR), is giving away complimentary cookies to all dine-in and takeaway customers to celebrate the momentous achievement of Dubai winning Expo 2020.

On 27 November 2013, Dubai was announced the official winner of the 2020 World Expo, becoming the first Middle Eastern city to organise the event in its more than 150-year history. To commemorate the outstanding achievement Costa Coffee and ELR are handing out sumptuous cookies to all customers free of charge.

In addition to the cookies, Costa Coffee has a special Cappuccino  graphic in all stores to mark the occasion. Eric Hughes, General Manager of Costa Coffee UAE, comments:

“Giving awaycookies and branding  our cappuccino with Expo 2020 is a way for us to thank our loyal customers and support the exciting times ahead for the people of the UAE. Milestones are being accomplished daily in the UAE and Costa Coffee UAE is excited to be part of it.”

About Costa: Costa was founded in London by the Italian brothers, Sergio and Bruno Costa, in 1971 and now represents the second largest international coffee shop operator.

At present, the company has more than 2 300 stores across the UK, EMEI and Asia. Costa EMEI covers operations in Europe, the Middle East and India, encompassing 708 stores across 25 international markets.

Costa has been voted “Best Branded Coffee Shop Chain in the UK and Ireland” by Allegra Strategies for three years running (2010, 2011 & November 2012) and also the winner of “Best Branded Coffee Chain in Europe” by Allegra Strategies 2011 and 2012. Costa is committed to looking after its coffee-growers. That's why we've established the Costa Foundation, a registered charity. The foundation's aims are to relieve poverty and to advance education, the health and environment of coffee-growing communities around the world. So far, we havefunded the building of 22 schools and improved the social and economic welfare of coffee-growing communities.
