McDonald's UAE Ramadan Book Campaign Raises Quarter Million Dirhams for Beit Al Khair Orphans

Dubai– September 22, 2013: McDonald's UAE is pleased to announce it has raised 250,000 AED from its 2013 Ramadan book campaign in partnership with Beit Al Khair Now in its fifth year, the campaign involved the creation of four children's books which were sold throughout McDonald's restaurants across the UAE during the month of Ramadan.

This year, McDonald's UAE sold over 50,000 of the specially created books covering Ramadan themes such as. The proceeds were presented to Beit Al Khair Society in a special ceremony which was attended by Mr Rafic Fakih, Managing Director & Partner of McDonald's UAE, and Abdeen Taher Al Awadi, General Manager of Beit Al Khair Society. 

Special thanks was also given to KidZania®, the award-winning children's ‘edutainment' center in The Dubai Mall, for hosting children reading session with Ronald McDonald.  

About Beit Al Khair Society:Beit Al Khair Society is one of the leading charity organizations and was established in 1989. The organization raises funds and develops programs to benefit the disadvantaged UAE nationals including widows, divorcees, low-income nationals, disabled nationals, families of prisoners, nationals with special needs, orphans and students from poor families.
