August 01, 2013: In line with their celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Manoushe Street (formerly known as Man2ooshe & Co.), a popular Middle Eastern eatery serving traditional home style street food, is running a CSR campaign called ‘Like to help someone' through their Facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/ManousheStreet), which aims to provide free Manakeesh meals to select mosques and labor camps in the UAE. For the whole month of Ramadan, the company has pledged to donate one Manakeesh meal for every like they receive on their Facebook fan page. Volunteer in UAE, a group that acts as a conduit between volunteers and charitable causes, has vouched support for the campaign and has committed in assisting Manoushe Street in the distribution of the free meals.

To date, the campaign has already received 3,600 likes. Manoushe Street has already distributed around 1000 Manakeesh meals across 10 mosques in Dubai and will soon be distributing more than 3,000 manakeesh meals in several labor camps in the Al Quoz area with the help of Volunteer in UAE. According to the company's senior management, the number of free meals is expected to increase as people who have learned of the campaign are not only liking the Manoushe Street fan page but have also encouraged others to like as well to help feed more people.

“We are truly surprised at the overwhelming response that we have received for this campaign, which is our way of giving back to the community and thanking them for the strong support that we have received over the last few years,” said Jihad El Eit, Founder and CEO, Manoushe Street.  “As the whole country celebrates the Holy Month of Ramadan, we are happy to be able to provide free meals to our needy brothers for their Iftar. We would like to thank Volunteer in UAE for joining us and we are also very grateful to all who have liked our Facebook fan page for this campaign.”

“It's always great to see companies coming up with creative and innovative ways to generate interest in the community into giving back to those less vulnerable amongst us. Offering a product to a disadvantaged person, in this case a labourer, in exchange for a like on their fan page is genius, (albeit risky!) as it allows many members of the public to get involved. We are very proud to have been able to support and facilitate this campaign,” concluded Lola Lopez, Founder, Volunteer in UAE.
