MRM falcon is fastest in qualifying round of RC Airplane (Sheikhs category) of Fazza Championship for Falconry Tilwah ‘Fakhr Al Ajyal'

Final round begins with Tilwah events on Friday which will see 200 qualifiers competing in 20 categories 

DUBAI, 9th February 2017:  The qualifying round of the RC (Remote Controlled) Airplane category of the Sheikhs and General Public category of the Falconry Championship Tilwah ‘Fakhr Al Ajyal' organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) concluded on Thursday 9th February at the dedicated Fazza Championship for Falconry site in Ruwayyah off Emirates Road (Exit 55). 

The final round will commence on Friday with a total of 200 falcons competing in 20 categories.

Ms. Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of Championships at HHC, said that the inclusion of the Noukhba (Elite) contest for the crowning of the Fazza Falconry Championship series had spurred the intensity of competition.

A total of 130 falcons competed over two days in the RC Airplane qualifying round with MRM's Mohammed Sultan Mattar Markhan's falcon piloted by Butti Al Ketbi clocking the fastest time of 1:16.122 minutes in the Sheikhs category. F3 falconer Khalifa Ahmed Mijrin Al Kindi's falcon qualified second in 1: 16.255 whle MRM also took third spot in 1:16.376.

Butti Al Ketbi said they have been participating in this championship for the past three years.

'I was encouraged by my friends to participate in this tournament. We are determined to win back the title,' he said.

Hamdan Bin Mijren of Team F3 said they are participating with eight birds and looking forward to achieve good results in the finals and regain the title.

“We have increased the intensity of training during the last few days to achieve glory. Our grateful thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and the organizing committee, which provided all the needs of the participants,” he said.

The RC Airplanes qualified in the General Public category held on the second day saw Hamdan Saeed Jaber's entry clocked the fastest time of 1:15.669 minutes.

Saif Jamal Hareez's ‘Terminator' vowed to destroy the field in the final after clocking the second fastest qualifying time of 1:15.85 minutes. 

Mubarak Salem Al Murar's entry came third in 1:15.896 minutes followed by another of Hamdan Saeed Jaber's entry in a time of 1:16.803.

“This is only the qualifying round. I don't know how the weather will be on the final day. Depending on it, I think my bird can improve his timing and go for the title,” said Saif Jamal Hareez who is competing in the General Public competition.
