The ‘Phenomenon' clocks fastest time of 19.252 seconds to be leading qualifier in Hurr Wahish Farkh

DUBAI, 6 February 2017:  The falcon of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, ‘Ghaith', produced another brilliant performance on the fourth day of the series of the Fazza Championships for Falconry: ‘Fakhr Al Ajyal' organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) in Dubai on Sunday 5th February.

‘Ghaith' led by F3 falconer Suhail Al Kindi clocked a phenomenal time of 19.252 seconds to be away ahead of his nearest competitors to be the fastest qualifier in the Hurr Wahish Farkh in the championship held at the dedicated Fazza Championships for Falconry site in Ruwayyah off Emirates Road (Exit 55).
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan's falcon obliterated the record of 19.353 seconds ‘Ghaith' set during the qualifying round of the same event in the Fazza Falconry Championship Tilwah held in January, proving that the ‘Phenomenon' is poised to break more records in the season finale.

‘Nawaf', the falcon of Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum came second in a time of 19.916 seconds and third place went to Yousef Abdulla Al Nuaimi's entry in a time of 20.705 seconds. Sowaidan Bin Damithan's falcon was placed fourth in a time of 20.747 seconds and the entry of the Elite team clocked 20.815 seconds.

Ms. Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of Championships at HHC, stressed that the participation of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for the second time with his falcon ‘Ghaith' has added a new spirit to the tournament.

“His Highness has honoured us with his participation and his contribution to promote the importance of the sport of falconry. Although ‘Ghaith' is specialized for hunting and not for racing, his record breaking performance speaks volumes of his quality,” she said.

Ms. Suad Ibrahim Darwish also said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan's magnanimous gesture to award the win to the runner-up in the previous Fazza Championship for Falconry Tilwah, has had a great impact on all the participants and serves as an incentive for them to train their falcons to perform better.
Competition is being held in the Jeer Shaheen Farkh, Jeer Shaheen Jernas, Jeer Tabaa Farkh, Jeer Tabaa Jernas, Pure Jeer Farkh, Pure Jeer Jernas, Garmoosha Farkh, Garmoosha Jernas, Hurr Wahish Shaheen, Hurr Wahish Farkh and Jernas in addition to RC Airplanes category with the top 10 qualifying for the final round.
