KidZania® Expands Edutainment Offering with all-new Heritage Village and Economy Plus Ticket

Dubai, UAE, January 25, 2017:  KidZania® – the award-winning children’s edutainment centre managed by Emaar Entertainment in The Dubai Mall – is launching the latest cultural destination for children, Heritage Village. 

The new attraction aims to evoke a sense of belonging and understanding for the great heritage of the UAE, with interactive activities reflecting the rich cultural background. 

Children can experience a range of activities including pearl hunting, henna, jewellery threading, for a unique cultural journey, designed to conjure creativity, whilst exercising motor skills in a safe, fun and educational way. 

Pearl hunting 
While learning about the origins of pearls and the UAE’s pearl industry, children can join a Pearl Specialist Zupervisor on a journey to the creek, to hunt for oysters containing pearls. After scooping up oysters from beneath the water’s surface, children will be taken to the cleaning table to wash their oyster and retrieve the pearl from inside, before polishing it until it’s shiny and dazzling, and proudly mounting their pearl on the display shelf for all to admire. 

Calligraphy 
A Master Calligrapher will impart knowledge of the ancient art of calligraphy in an interactive session, where children are taught to use careful strokes so they can write the first letter of their names on a card, which they can take home to treasure. 

Pottery making
Pottery making is one of the UAE’s oldest handicrafts. Children can learn about the craft with guidance from a Pottery Expert, as they use a pottery wheel to ‘throw’ clay and make their very own creation. Children can then brush up on their painting skills, with colourful shades to add additional flair, before taking their pot home to showcase it to friends and family.
