Global Village Makes a Couple's Dream Come True!

Filipino couple gets to experience ‘the world’ through Global Village. 

Dubai, UAE, January 8, 2017:   Global Village, the region’s first-ever, multicultural festival park, is known for its fabulous entertainment, shopping and cultural offerings but more importantly it is known for its true Emirati hospitality towards its guests. 

A frequent visitor to Global Village, Millicent Moreno, a nurse at a hospital in Abu Dhabi, always dreamt of travelling the world and when her fiancé Jaime Berdos proposed to her; she had already decided that their pre-wedding pictures, which would eventually become a part of the wedding album, should be shot in front of landmark monuments from around the world. Her high school sweet-heart and best friend, Jaime Berdos; also a nurse in the same hospital, was adamant to make her wish come true. But travelling the world in such a short time before the wedding would be virtually impossible. But like they say, where there is a will there is a way!

Jaime Berdos reached out to the management of Global Village via email when his prayers were answered and they agreed to allow the couple an exclusive pre-wedding shoot at the premises of Global Village. A one-off permission, the Global Village team was moved by the sheer persistence and determination of Jaime to make his fiancée’s dream come true. 

Jaime said, “I cannot thank Global Village enough for allowing us to come in with our photographer to shoot the wedding album. We know this is a very big deal but we will never forget their kindness. Being regular guests and knowing how much my fiancée has been inspired to travel around the world after our frequent visits to Global Village, I couldn’t think of a better place than her original source of inspiration to make her dream come true!”

Millicent added, “It’s not just the permission for shooting when Global Village was closed in the morning, but also the way their guest hospitality was managed. We were treated as if we were so special – they made sure we were made to feel comfortable, offered us drinks and took us around the park. I would say it was like VIP treatment despite being regular visitors. We offered to pay but they declined it saying that we should consider it as our wedding gift on their behalf! I don’t think I need to go around the world now – Global Village has made my dream come true!”

The couple said that they promise to be back every season to enjoy the offerings, along with their family and friends so that they too could visit their dream destination – Global Village!
