ISAS students explore and appreciate cinema at Children's International Film Festival

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (May 12, 2015): In a bid to celebrate the world of cinema and arts for children, students of International School of Arts & Sciences (ISAS) participated in a unique film-watching experience at this year's Children's International Film Festival (CIFF) in Mirdiff City Centre.

The trip comprised of screening various engaging short-films and clips directed by renowned filmmakers that did not only entertain the young audience, but also imparted important morals in life. The refreshing trip to CIFF was followed by an exercise, wherein the students were asked to express their favourite moment of the day through pictures and captions.

The resulting submissions highlighted both the entertaining and reflective moments experienced at the cinema, with some drawing about humorous scenes while others took home the message of bicycle safety. Many also fondly reflected on the complimentary popcorn that the students relished, thereby sealing a complete experience of enjoying films with their friends.

The festival, planned as a yearly event, was initiated with the aim of encouraging young talent in filmmaking and to provide films that are meaningful, inspirational and acclimatize children with the real world. The festival also gave some of the most creative students of the UAE a chance to submit their films for the coveted CIFF Awards.

ISAS regularly holds activities and excursions for its students to widen their horizons of knowledge and experience. According to the teachers, the trip to CIFF served as a powerful medium to encourage students with creative inclinations to explore the audio-visual world. It also gave them the opportunity to be inspired by the show-reel produced by some of the best minds in the country and participate with their own entries in the subsequent years of the film festival.
