Al Mawakeb Garhoud and Al Makassed schools take home AMSI Championship titles

Nine Schools across the region participate in the tournament 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (March 2, 2015): Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI), a leading academic solutions provider which manages both ISAS and Al Mawakeb Schools, announced the winners of the AMSI championship, which was held recently for boys aged 14 – 17 years.

The three day tournament saw teams from nine schools across the region compete for the basketball and volleyball championship trophies. The participating schools were Ahlia, Saudi Arabia, The Glenelg School of Abu Dhabi (GSAD), Al Makassed Lebanon, Philadelphia Private School Dubai, Raffles RAK, Deira International School (DIS), ISAS Dubai, Al Mawakeb Garhoud and Al Mawakeb Al Barsha.
Lauding the performance of all players, Mr. Charles Hajjar said, “We at AMSI strongly believe that sports in schools is an integral part of the ongoing development of students. By recognising and awarding outstanding performance, we aim to encourage our students to not only learn in the classroom, but also hone their sporting skills through such championship tournaments. I would like to congratulate all the winners, and hope that the following year we see more and more schools participate in the annual AMSI Championship.”
AMSI Championship Trophies

The basketball championship title was awarded to Al Makassed School from Lebanon. The second place title was awarded to ISAS Dubai, while third place was taken by Ahlia Saudi Arabia school. The ‘Best Scorer' awarded was given to Husam Mikati from Al Makassed School, while Ali Fayyad from ISAS won the ‘Best Player' accolade. The ‘Best 3 Pointer' title was presented to Mohammad Kouka from ISAS Dubai.

The volleyball championship title was presented to Al Mawakeb School Garhoud, while second place was won by Al Mawakeb Al Barsha and the third place went to Raffles UAE. Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud students Malek El Jadyidi and Amir Mohammed Rahmanian Shahri were awarded the ‘Best Server' and ‘Best Player' trophies, respectively.


The trophies were awarded in the presence of Majed Suwaidi (BasketBall Player – Al Nasr Club), Sami Jassem (VolleyBall Player – Al Nasr Club), Ali Thani Bin Ghalaita (Manager VolleyBall team- Al Nasr Club) and Charles Hajjar representing AMSI, and other AMSI organizers and sports department staff.
