Mulberry Autumn Winter 2015 Catwalk Collection

‘Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.' - William Morris

This season, Mulberry is fascinated by old English houses and how they lived through the decades, changing and evolving with the ebb and flow of times and fashions. For the Autumn Winter 2015 Catwalk Collection we're stepping into the enticing world of Georgian interiors, known for their elegance, lightness and stylised flair, epitomised by the Rococo and neo-classical design elements in the work of architects such as Robert Adam and John Soames.

The exquisite and delicate cornicing, mouldings and white paintwork characteristic of grand Georgian homes inspired our new bespoke Filigree motif, interpreted in silk-screen print, woven jacquard and embroidery. Material references from Georgian interiors also inspired us to emphasise a sense of touch, using tactile fabrics and sumptuous detailing to give the collection a rich, textural overture.

READY TO WEAR

The Ready to Wear collection uses an array of luxurious textures, from shearling and leather to soft wool and mohair. The Clarance Jacket is a short double-breasted silhouette finished in intarsiachecked shearling, its soft palette of Cream and Light Grey Marl elegantly styled with casual-chic trousers and a jumper in soft-brushed mohair.

The Dixter Coat's clean, chic silhouette is suited to any era, but its unique finishes set it apart: a beautiful hand-painted interpretation of the Filigree design on a base of Rose Petal pink, or Mulberry's iconic check design seamlessly blending into rich Midnight Blue on luxurious Haircalf.

The Farley Coat in Cream Boucle Tweed was inspired by Georgian white and bright interior paintwork, with the Filigree motif completed with a painted surface, combining antique inspiration with contemporary design.

Dresses are fluid and flattering, with both long and short length options, and elegant seamless ‘grown on' long-sleeves. The Filigree design is silk-printed to different scales and contrasts, and the silhouettes allow each dress to be paired with a variety of complementary pieces. The Hatti Skirt panels different
print interpretations into one garment, while the Apley story includes a cool and sexy dress and jumpsuit finished in a bespoke antique-effect jacquard.

New knitwear is based on classic knit staples. The Panelled Knitted Roll Neck Jumper combines luxurious Silk, Alpaca and Merino, deconstructed and reassembled with a delicate external linking stitch to highlight the garment's panelled construction. The easy Donegal jumper silhouette was inspired by the traditional Irish Donegal knitwear, but is reworked for Mulberry using sophisticated stitching techniques to emphasise the shape and panel details. Faded paint-effect embroidery references the distressed paintwork in grand old houses.

ACCESSORIES

The Roxette, new for Autumn Winter 2015, has an elegant and effortless Mulberry style inspired by the belted and riveted Roxanne - one of the most-recognised bags of the last decade. The Roxette is a modern interpretation, with a new padlock keeper and signature plaque combining Mulberry tradition
with contemporary tastes. You'll fall in love with the new shearling version in Rose Petal or Mole Grey – a tactile, instantly grab-able option! An Oversized Roxette is also introduced, designed to be the envy of fellow travellers in the softest Calfskin leather.

The Jamie Bag is cool, casual and classy. Inspired by Mulberry's vintage ‘bucket bags' from the 1970s, this version is a contemporary take on a classic shape. Introduced for this season's Main Collection, for the Catwalk Collection the focus is on touch – and you'll certainly want to grab one in Croc Haircalf or
a combination of Calfskin and Suede, notably in the new and of-the-moment Mini size.

With the emphasis on texture and touch, our icon Bayswater shows off new finishes for Autumn Winter 2015, including Embossed Croc Print, Croc Haircalf in rich Oxblood, and a stand-out Ostrich version in Sugar Pink.

SOFT ACCESSORIES

The Filigree print motif takes centre stage on large silk twill scarves, highlighted with colour-pop borders trimmed with soft fringe in Peony Pink, Jungle Green and Sea Blue. The 120cm x 120cm squares are perfect as statement accents for spring looks.

SHOES

To complement the textures in the collection, a new ankle boot and pump make an appearance: both with a modern twist. A chunky stacked leather heel is finished with a unique ombré or croc effect, decorative braiding and tassels.
