Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 11, 2015: Star Energy Oiltanking recently donated AED 92,000 for Thalassemia patients at the Dubai Thalassemia centre.

Venu Gopal, health safety security and environment manager  and S. Sabapathy, finance and admin manager at Star Energy Oiltanking presented a cheque worth Dh 92,000 to Dr Khawla Belhoul, Director of the Thalassemia Centre.

Belhoul said: “Thalassemic patients who face financial difficulties often need assistance to manage the disease and we appreciate the support that we have received from Star Energy Oiltanking. Such initiative help better the lives of Thalassemia patients. As Thalassemia is a life-long disease, continuous management and treatment of the disease and its complications is essential and therefore, we often need the support of such humanitarian organizations. This aid will significantly improve the lives of these patients.  Thalassemia patients also need the support of the community to help live a normal life to the maximum extent possible.”
