Dubai, January 21, 2015 - Mulberry's Spring Summer 2015 girl is full of joie de vivre and has a carefree spirit. She delights in playful spring colours and light as air fluid fabrics. A visit to London's eighteenth century Kew Gardens inspired colour, texture and pattern, and new silhouettes and prints reference the iconic resort collection aesthetic.
READY TO WEAR
Kew Gardens influenced two contrasting prints for Ready To Wear: a floral leaf design rendered as a subtle, hand-drawn outline, and the geometric linear weave inspired by wrought ironwork and structured wicker. Stripes make reference to the intricate vein work on botanical plants as well as the familiar English ticking stripe associated with traditional summer resort collections.
The colours for Ready To Wear include Palm Green and Ivy, taken from the natural English garden palette, with crisp Creams and Ivory used as a bright base. Highlight colours Camomile and Dusty Coraline continue the flora-inspired theme, but are fresh and modern used in block colour and in partnership with Cream or Black.
Styled for the season's effortless Mulberry girl, the looks are laid-back and elegant. Lightweight fabrics add to the fluid and graceful feel of the collection, with chiffon and silk used on dresses, tops and trousers. Summer knitwear makes a playful reference to the collection's geometric print, while dresses create a relaxed silhouette, using flattering wrap and crossover styles to create pieces that arewearable and chic.
WOMEN' S BAGS
Mulberry makes beautiful things practical, and practical things beautiful, and this is the defining focus of the Spring Summer 2015 accessories collection. The new Blossom Tote has an abundance of internal space for everything one needs to carry, and a myriad of leather and colour choices provides an option for everyone. A new leather basket weave finish is inspired by the wicker print from the Ready To Wear collection.
The second new tote is the Arundel, created with a busy life in mind. The sleek and modern tote has a simple structure for an unfussy finish, and inside has a spacious internal compartment that can easily fit A4 documents and 13” laptops. A zipped central pocket is included for additional organisation.
The Alice and Dorothy bag families update quintessential Mulberry detailing for the new season. The Dorothy design was inspired by postman's lock satchels from the archives and has a classic vintageinspired satchel shape and practical combination of top handle and detachable cross-body strap. The Alice has a softer shape but the focus remains on being highly useful – this is a fully zipped style for those that prefer it, with a detachable large leather strap.
WOMEN' S SHOES
The new Essentials collection introduces three classic and practical styles: a Ballerina, Slipper and
Braided Flat Sandal, in a rainbow of colour options. The Slipper shape is a new style in the shoe
offering, featuring a perforated tree and made from the finest supple Italian leather. The Flat Sandal
uses traditional braided detailing as a reference to Mulberry's early designs and their equestrian
influences. Inspired by another heritage moment, this time Mulberry's early belt creations, is the Flora
collection. Two styles are included, the High Heel Sandal and Gladiator Sandal, both with strong
silhouettes featuring sexy criss-crossed leather straps for a modern style crafted in traditional leather.
The Richmond collection develops the geometric wicker design for three new styles, using a handwoven
method reminiscent of craft techniques used by Mulberry for decades. The high heel styles are
fashion-forward and give a modern twist to an authentic artisanal technique.
Mulberry has always taken classic British styles and reinterpreted them with a signature twist. New for
Spring Summer 2015 is the Maggie Chelsea Boot, inspired by the iconic ankle boot and perfect for the
effortless styling of this collection teamed either with trousers or summer tea dresses.
WOMEN'S SOF T ACCESSORIES
For the new season the Heritage collection of soft scarves and wraps continues to develop, featuring
iconic Mulberry check or tree branding in new collection colours. Many have become collection
signatures, including the Jacquard Logo, Tamara and Check scarves and Mulberry Tree wraps.
In the seasonal offering there are new feature prints, including Spring Leaves, Greenhouse and Basket
Weave in key colours including Coraline, Palm, Midnight Blue and Ivory. For Spring Summer 2015 a new
smaller size is added to the silk scarf collection, ideal for tying neatly at the neck or styled in the hair.
Another new addition is the Shadow Stripe Scarf, a luxurious and generously proportioned silk scarf
woven in semi-sheer and satin stripes and printed with the botanical-inspired Greenhouse design.
For the first time a Panama hat is included in the summer collection. The Mulberry Panama is
beautifully hand woven in Panama and finished in England by renowned hat makers Christys'.
MEN'S COLLECT ION
The starting point for new additions in the men's collection was to look at the most successful men's
styles and modernise them to become the right-hand bag of today's busy modern man. The Theo and
Maxwell families are ideal for business and travel, with discreet branding, beautiful classic leather
finishes and strong, versatile structures. The Theo Travel Document Case and Day Document Case both
have an adjustable leather strap for a choice of carry options, and zipped internal compartments and
multiple pockets for organisational ease. The Maxwell Messenger is a simple flap messenger, smart
enough for business and travel but also adaptable for casualwear. The simple construction has an
understated style signature and fits A4 documents or a laptop.
Two smart and iconic new additions to the men's soft accessories are the Pleated Cravat and Pocket
Square. A Mulberry first, the cravat is pleated to give a pleasing weight and drape for luxurious
styling. The Pocket Square range is woven in Italy in an exclusive jacquard, finished with a refined,
rolled hem.
