El Beit introduces first-of-a-kind technologies for live TV
Dubai, UAE: 21st January 2015: El Beit's Episode 11 aired at 9pm on Monday, and put the spotlight on the creative abilities of the winners from previous episodes. The highlight of the episode came when His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum surprised all the 13 participants of the Golden Screen chaters by awarding them AED100,000 each. The episode's chater was dedicated to praise the prophet Mohammed (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him).
Guest of honor and chater competition winners
This week's guest of honor awarded the winning chater to Saad Al Mutairi, while the judges selected Wael Al Mutairi, who also qualifies for the Grand Finale episode in two weeks. Both winners earned AED 100,000 each.
Imagery pulse competition winner
The golden screen showcased the 12 top imagery poets from the previous episode, six of whom were selected by the jury members. Fahad Al Huwaimani earned third place while Mufrih Al Subaie earned second place, with first place going to Abdul Aziz Al Oqaily.
Poetry serves us all
Mr Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, CEO of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center pointed out: “Poetry is an elegant way of conveying diverse messages to society in a highly civilized manner.”
He added: “His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Saeed Al Maktoum continues to honor the show's participants, because El Beit is a very important initiative for him. We are truly overwhelmed by the show's success.”
Ahmed Al Bidwawi, the show's co-host said: “So far the tweets we have received have exceeded our expectations in both quantity and quality. We have seen an incredible range of visions and linguistic skills in the submissions.”
State-of-the-art technology
The popular show is not only a pioneer in the poetry field but also the technological arena, introducing the latest hi-tech innovations in TV production. This includes 140 moving lights, 100 high tech stage lights and 6 high definition screens, all connected to a hub in the video arena that controls the backdrop visuals during the live show.
Media delegations from Kuwait and UAE
Media delegates from Kuwait and the UAE paid a special visit to the studio and embarked on a behind-the-scenes tour, where they also met and interviewed various members of the show's team.
The judging panels consist of renowned pioneers of contemporary poetry in the UAE and the Gulf. The show is hosted by Barakat Al Wagyan and the co-host for the second season is Emirati poet Ahmed Al Bidwawi. Joining the co-hosts is Omani poet Hilala Al Hamdani.
The widely acclaimed show is organized and produced by Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, and filming takes place in Dubai Studio City.
