ADSW Adds Extra Day's Events to Maximize Value for Industry

Leading Clean Energy Forums Offer Fourth Day of Insights, Debates and Networking Opportunities

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 7 January, 2015 - In response to industry demand, this month's World Future Energy Summit (WFES), International Water Summit (IWS) and EcoWaste held in Abu Dhabi, have expanded their conference and exhibition programs to four days, providing delegates with greater opportunities to meet with policy makers, entrepreneurs, experts and technologists driving next-generation sustainability innovations.

WFES, IWS and EcoWaste all take place during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), from January 17-24 that is expected to attract more than 32,000 people from 170 countries. Hosted by Masdar, ADSW is a yearly platform that addresses the interconnected challenges of energy and water security, climate risk and sustainable development.

“Last year's participants told us that three days are not enough, given the abundance of ideas and opportunities we need to showcase,” said Naji El Haddad, group event director. “Adding another day allows us to continue to grow ADSW as a world-class platform for the generation of business-based, actionable solutions to the world's energy challenges.”

A WFES highlight on the fourth day is a panel sharing lessons learned from solar and wind projects around the world. Featuring leading clean energy experts, the panel will share views on successes and challenges encountered in the development of renewable energy projects. The session will highlight the vital need for careful assessment of the commercial and environmental viability of projects before they are launched.

IWS will have a full final day with a session on food security in Arab countries followed by roundtable sessions focused on sustainability issues ranging from the water-energy-food nexus to enhancing farm production in arid areas. IWS also will offer two afternoon workshops dealing with water resources management in Abu Dhabi and sustaining the marine and coastal environment in the Arabian Gulf.
The fourth day also gives EcoWaste attendees an extra opportunity to meet with the 50 leading local and international suppliers and more than 2,000 regional buyers and professionals at the event.

Appropriately, WFES and IWS will be wrapped up with a joint concluding session that will draw together key insights from both events to address the water-energy nexus and influence the sustainability agenda moving forward.
ADSW also features the seventh Zayed Future Energy Prize Award Ceremony and coincides with the Fifth General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency.
