Dubai, November 9th, 2014: Jawabkom (www.jawabkom.com), the Arab world's largest interactive question and answer website won the 'Start Up of The Year' award granted by the 2014 Enterprise Agility Awards, staged by 'Entrepreneur MENA', a division of BNC Publishing.

One of the fastest-growing Arabic websites, Jawabkom, which offers users the opportunity to ask questions to professionals including doctors, lawyers, psychologists and IT professionals, and get personalized answers, attracted 1 million Arabic speaking users in just eight months since its inception, the first Arabic website to reach this milestone in such record time.

The number is expected by Jawabkom co-founder and CEO RaedMalhas to increase manyfold in the vast, and diverse, Arab market.

A Microsoft veteran and a graduate of Purdue University with a computer engineering degree, with several patents in technology, Malhas attributes the success and competitive edge of Jawabkom to 'VARM' –  'the four pillars' that are virility, acquisition, retention and monetization.

'Our questions-and-answers experiment on the Arabic online market proved to have every bit of VARM and much more! So, Jawabkom.com was born, and within weeks, we gathered up some funds and attacked. Today, there are 12 full-time individuals working on Jawabkomand our growth in every metric has been exponential,' elaborates Malhas.

Malhas an entrepreneur, investor, adviser and former Microsoft director, was given the “Startup of the Year” Award at the 'Enterprise Agility Awards' event inJumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai on November 4.

This accolade comes in recognition of the outstanding growth registered by the company “Jawabkom.com” he co-founded with his business partner DenizErkan, another Microsoft veteran who worked with Malhas for eight years at Microsoft before they left to embark on their entrepreneurship route.

'Entrepreneurship in the Middle East is only for relentless and fearless entrepreneurs,' says Malhas who is also co-founder of MiNeeds, an online local services marketplace in the US, and of R&D Labs, an incubation powerhouse investment fund that targets launching start-ups and investing in emerging markets.
The Dubai event, held with the support of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, offers just one more recognition to an enterprise that has been covered by over 50 media outlets,

And if things progress as envisaged, it will be just one more well-deserved accolade to a 'fearless' entrepreneur.
