From October 21st to 23rd, Perrelet will be one of the protagonists in the 8th edition of the SIAR (SALON INTERNACIONAL ALTA RELOJERIA, America's most upscale watch exhibition. This year, it will now take place at the luxurious St, Regis hotel on Mexico's mythical Reforma Avenue.
Perrelet is taking part in this upscale event for the fifth time, presenting its 2014 collections to a public composed of watchmaking devotees, with highlight on Turbine PILOT, Turbine YACHT, Turbine CHRONO and TURBILLON., The world of the Turbine Chrono has inspired the design of the Perrelet booth that features a contemporary style in tribute to the Turbine model that has paved the way for horological complications and stimulated the brand's creativity.
With the Turbine models, Perrelet displays its expertise through enriching the double rotor watch with two of the best-loved horological complications and thereby introducing some surprising technical and aesthetic features.
Turbine Pilot: The new Turbine Pilot collection by Perrelet associates the Turbine concept with that of the circular aviation slide rule: a new technical and stylistic exercise for a truly unique aviator watch. At the heart of the collection beats the mechanical automatic P-331 caliber entirely developed and produced in-house at the brand's production sites.
Turbine Yacht: the Turbine Yacht collection, a new watch line that will prove an excellent seagoing companion, combining Perrelet's famous Turbine with a function stemming from the maritime world: the windrose. The Turbine Yacht, an evolved version of the Turbine Diver model, combines within a single watch the aesthetic and ornamental design codes of the most prestigious ships. The 47 mm-diameter steel case of the Turbine Yacht, water-resistant to 300 meters, comes in several colors thanks to a black or bronze-toned PVD coating.
Turbine Chrono: Perrelet has successfully given rise to this original creation featuring a series of cleverly superimposed effects. The chronograph measurements are provided by a central seconds chronograph hand and a particularly innovative 60-minute counter. The former runs over a large inner bezel surrounding the dial, while the latter is composed of two juxtaposed sapphire crystal elements. A graduated mobile disk turns in the center of a fixed ring marked with a red arrow bearing the inscription “min” and pointing to the recorded times.
Turbillon: this name stands for a Tur(bine) with a (tour)billon. The Turbillon debuts a refined turbine carved out of noble sapphire. The transparent blades discreetly enliven the dial and unexpected reveal the brand-new tourbillon from Perrelet. The prestigious mechanism incorporates an innovative escapement with an oxidized silicon wheel and lever, at the heart of an exclusive self-winding movement.
The SIAR will host over 25 watch brands and will be welcoming more than 2500 visitors and 200 representatives of local and international press. In the presence of many CEO of exhibitor brands, the Swiss ambassador in Mexico, Mr. Louis José Touron, will inaugurate the 8th edition of Latin America's most important watch fair.
