ADPC honors outstanding performances of employees
Abu Dhabi, UAE: Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has launched its new internal excellence award “MAFNOOD” to highlightand honor outstanding performances of employees, business units and divisions.
By launching the award, ADPC follows the directives of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, to introduce excellence award schemes at each government entity in Abu Dhabi.
The “MAFNOOD” award scheme is designed in line with the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) which ADPC won last year in the category “Strategic Transformation Project”.
The award aims to achieve sustainable performance excellence across all of ADPC'soperations and to further enhance the quality of public services. The award also aims to enhance the spirit of competition among employees and operating entities to foster best practicesin line with international standards.
Alongside the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award, “MAFNOOD” follows the guidelines of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), one of the world's leading non-profit organizations that promotes sustainable excellence in enterprises across the globe.
“We are delighted to officially announce our MAFNOOD excellence award which is a great opportunity to honor and celebrate outstanding performances. The award will not only promote a culture of quality but further encourage our employees in their ambition for excellence”, said Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, ADPC, and continued:

Ahmad Alkhayat, Senior Quality Assurance & Excellence Manager, added: “The excellence award scheme has been introduced by ADPC to reflect the executive management's commitment towards creating a culture of excellence. ADPC will collaborate with an external party to assess the submission documents and present them to the excellence committee which is chaired by our CEO.”
The excellence award scheme,which has been developed by ADPC's Quality Assurance and Excellence Department,covers the categories “Unitsand Divisions”, “Projects” and “Individuals”. Each category offersa set of awards representing different aspects of excellence requirements.
Earlier this year, ADPC conducted a seminar for the executive management ensuring that all excellence criteria are understood by the concerned senior personnel.
The winners of the “MAFNOOD” excellence award will be announced at ADPC's annual ceremony to be held in January 2015.
