“The Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) is a global centre of excellence that partners with water supply and wastewater utilities in the Arab Countries to provide best practice service delivery to their customers. Since its official launching in 2009 in Amman, ACWUA is working on expanding its membership network to reach to more than 100 water utility members from 18 Arab countries, in addition to private sector companies, NGO's & academic institutions and individual members. ACWUA has developed sustainable partnerships with several international organizations, which opened wide opportunities to ACWUA and consequently to its members.

Eng.. Khaldon H. Khashman- Secretary General, ACWUA says,” The Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) is the most water scarce region in the world. Limited water resources is leading to a large gap between available resources and increasing demand for water in different sectors. He also emphasizes to follow Energy Saving Performance and improve the financial performance of a water utility to cover the required investments and using low energy technologies in wastewater treatment plants. He is looking forward to meet with water experts to exchange ideas, knowledge and expertise and to get opportunity to create new partnerships at the Forum.

Abner Francis, CEO of BE Summits quotes, “With water scarcity predicted to reach alarming levels in the GCC Region, government officials and experts are looking for more research into ways to undo the damage caused by climate change. We are thrilled to have ACWUA on board in GCC Power and Water Forum to showcase their expertise on the pressing issue of water scarcity”.

GCC Power and Water Forum is a must attend event for 2014 because it provides a forum for leaders and water professionals to blend their ideas and learn from each other. This Forum is promoting innovation, best practice and collaboration to offer solid solutions to the issue of water scarcity in GCC Region.
