The stability of larger drones…
Ultra-compact, hyper light (55gr) and very robust with its polyamide structure, the Parrot Rolling Spider is a flying drone comfortable both indoors and outdoors.
It is piloted in Bluetooth Smart* via the free FreeFlight 3 application for iOS and Android Smartphones and tablets, and for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.
Like a flying acrobat, its engines push their power to do high speed flights and flips with astonishing agility.
Flying is nice… Rolling is good too!
The Parrot Rolling Spider can be equipped with two ultra light wheels held by an axis in carbon fiber (10gr).
Once the wheels are fixed on its back, the Rolling Spider races on the ground like a racing car and can, like a spider, climb along the wall and continue its run on the ceiling.
Don't believe its wheels impact the agility of the Rolling Spider: it can throw itself into the air with the same speed and flip.
An ace of acrobatics, on the ground and in the air
The Parrot Rolling Spider does high-speed flights: it rushes, turns right, turns left, performs front, back and side flips with amazing fluidity and stability, and follows commands from the pilot.
The pilot ‘swipes' the screen from top to bottom and the Rolling Spider turns 180° in a flash.
The Parrot Rolling Spider is on the alert even when its engines are off.
Throw the minidrone and its sensors detect it instantaneously: its engines start automatically and it stabilizes in the air, awaiting your instructions.
A vertical camera (60fps), positioned under its fuselage, helps it stabilize during flights. It also enables the Rolling Spider to take snapshots, which are recorded on the 1 Gb Flash memory. The snapshots can then be transferred on a computer via the embedded micro-USB connector, and shared via the ‘Pilot Academy'.
Tech info: Bluetooth Smart (4.0): This wireless norma of communication provides considerably reduced power consumption when date are exchanged and offers great ease of use. The connection between the piloting Smartphone/tablet and the Parrot Rolling Spider is automatic. No need to search for a peripheral, no need for a code. A childish game and a reach up to 20 meter outdoor!

Push the ‘take off' button: its engines start; it takes-off and stabilizes while awaiting your indications.
You tilt the Smartphone or tablet on the right or on the left and the Rolling Spider mimics your movements.
Swipe on the right and the Rolling Spider turns 90° in a flash.
Game over? Push the “landing” button and the automatic landing procedure starts.
Small, but full of sensors!
A worthy heir of Parrot consumer drones, the Parrot Rolling Spider has remarkable flight stability.
It utilizes technologies usually dedicated to larger drones:
- A 3-axis accelerometer & a 3-axis gyroscope measure and analyze each movement or inclination of the drone and, thanks to the autopilot, rectify the position of the Rolling Spider ;
- The vertical camera (also used for snapshots) compares, every 16 milliseconds, an image of the ground to the previous one to determine the speed of the Rolling Spider ;
- An ultrasound analyses the flight altitude up to 4 meters. Beyond, a pressure sensor controls the drone in altitude.
Three colors, 12 moods
The Parrot Rolling Spider is available in red, blue and white with, as a bonus, a set of 12 self-sticking “mouths” to be positioned under its nose in order for the Rolling Spider not to look like another one and to express its mood of the day.
Light, robust, fast, the Parrot Rolling Spider is also very safe: its engines stop when there is a contact with the propellers.

Techno info : Wi-Fi 2,4 or 5GHz ? The Parrot Jumping Sumo is equipped with 4 Wi-Fi antennas so it can manage the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies in MIMO (Multiple Inputs Multiple Outputs) format. Depending on network interference, the pilot can select the frequency of his choice and benefit from larger reach.
The world in immersive view
The Parrot Jumping Sumo is equipped with a wide angle camera that streams live immersive views on the screen of the piloting Smartphone or tablet.
You discover the world at the height of the Jumping Sumo and explore areas that were inaccessible until now.
It can also take pictures and videos which are stored on a micro-USB stick formerly plugged on the robot.
