Dubai-UAE: 16 May, 2014 – KLAFS, the German global market leader for saunas, pools and spas, has announced the opening of its largest showroom in the world in Dubai.  KLAFS Middle East (KLAFS ME) as the operational headquarters for the region will be based at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) and will cater to the growing influx of health tourists annually visiting the UAE.

KLAFS ME aims to establish a new concept in the region's spa and sauna industry extending beyond luxury and well-being to offer the therapeutic benefits of a spa, sauna and steam bath. KLAFS' products are set to add value to a range of sectors including luxury hotels, fitness clubs, swimming centres and high-end villas. KLAFS' wide range of award-winning products has been recognised for their scientifically proven benefits to holistic health and well-being, as well as for conforming to highest quality sustainability standards.

Commenting on KLAFS choice of Dubai as operational headquarters for the Middle East, Montaser Al Kuzbari, Chairman and CEO of KLAFS ME, said: “Dubai's vision for tourism 2020 and our complete confidence in its role as a global investment hub and prime tourism destination have prompted us to establish our operations in the UAE. Our plans to establish a strong regional presence are also in line with the initiatives announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council towards positioning Dubai as a regional leader and also one of 10 global destinations for medical tourism.”

According to the Dubai Health Authority, huge investments are being made in the field of medical tourism in preparation for Dubai's Expo 2020 outing, and an estimated budget of AED40 billion has been earmarked for 2015 alone. The Dubai Health Authority is expecting approximately 170,000 medical tourists from across the Middle East in 2016.

Underlining his optimism for KLAFS ME's growth potential in the region, he said: “The UAE is witnessing a growing demand for holistic wellness products and services, especially from high net-worth individuals, medical clinics, cosmetic clinics and hospitals and sports clubs. KLAFS ME is keen to establish itself as a pioneer in this sector through introducing the latest and most innovative solutions to discerning customers in the region.”
