Al-Futtaim Engineering part of Hamad & Mohamad Al Futtaim opens exclusive Roca showroom in Qatar

Growth in construction sector driven by increased spending on infrastructure and real estate projects

Doha, May 08, 2014: As construction activity picks up in Qatar, Al-Futtaim Engineering's Qatar operations part of Hamad and Mohamad Al Futtaim today opened an exclusive Roca showroom on the old Airport road.

The opening of the first Roca showroom follows increasing demand for its range of sanitary ware products as spending on infrastructure and other real estate projects continues to drive growth in construction in the State of Qatar. According to industry reports, the government plans to spend more than QAR237 billion (US$65 billion) on infrastructure projects until 2016 with majority of the funds earmarked for residential and commercial real estate projects.

“We are extremely pleased to open the state-of-the-art Roca showroom in Qatar, said Dawood Ozair, Senior Managing Director, Electronics, Engineering and Technologies at Al-Futtaim. “Our partnership with Roca is an extension of the group's DNA to partner with the world's best brands. This new showroom will strengthen our position among retail clients and reinforce our commitment to this market which is among the fastest growing in the world.”

Mr. Miquel-Angel Munar, Senior Managing Director of ROCA Spain said: “The opening of this exclusive ROCA showroom in Doha is the fruit of a joint commitment shown by our company and our Qatari partner, Al-Futtaim Engineering, to create the ideal conditions required to position the brand as market leader by 2020.”

Designed by the Francesc Rifé Studio, a well know interior designer from Spain, the showroom will showcase a whole range of Roca bathroom products.

One of the many highlights on display is the Element range, the fruit of collaboration with the architect David Chipperfield. This is a powerful, compact, geometric and rational design which is extremely adaptable to the modern style of contemporary interior design.

Another high-point is the In-Flow bathtub, where the bath combines design perfection, technology, innovation and sustainability with an ergonomic interior and an integrated tap system, is especially designed to offer maximum comfort and well-being.

A further attraction is the Armani/Roca collection, a concept born out of the collaboration between two renowned brands that lead the way in their respective sectors. The result is a unique bathroom space characterized by its elegance, quality, design, style and an organic integration of each object into the space available.

Headquartered in Dubai, Al-Futtaim Engineering has worked on major projects in Qatar including the Qatar Education City Convention Center for Qatar Foundation, IKEA – Doha Festival City and Burj Marina Office Tower for Burj Marina Real Estate amongst others. It's MEP division is currently working on the Heritage Quarter, Jumaa Mosque for Mshereib properties and Grand Cinemas.
