Dubai, UAE May 5, 2014: Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) spread cheers at Dubai Autism Center (DAC), the largest and most comprehensive non-profit organization in the UAE serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

ESMA, the sole standardization body in the UAE, distributed gifts and spent quality time with the children under the center's care and supervision.

Customer Service Head Mr. Ali Al Haj headed the ESMA's delegation who were also given a tour at the center's facilities and classrooms.

The initiative is in line with ESMA's commitment to deepen its ties with the community as well as reinforce its values of compassion, communication, and promotion of solidarity among all segments of society.

Sarah Ahmad Baqer, Head of the Community Service Unit at the DAC, welcomed the ESMA team and explained to them the services the center provides to children with special needs.

Towards the end of the tour, the ESMA delegation joined the children in their various games and activities.

Ahmed Saif Al Ali, in charge of Governmental Communications at ESMA, said the Authority carries out a lot of activities and events throughout the year to serve the community and non-profit organizations.

Of particular interest to ESMA are institutions for the disabled as they play a major and vital role in helping adults and children with disabilities overcome their difficulties and become productive members of the society.

ESMA has taken up a leading role in ensuring that different sectors in the UAE are able to reach quality standard of living.

The Dubai Autism Center's unique mission of helping children with special needs, ESMA said, must be complemented to ensure that they get the best help available and for them to be successfully integrated into the UAE mainstream society.

Founded in 2001, Dubai Autism Center is the largest, most innovative, and comprehensive non-profit organization in the United Arab Emirates serving children with autism spectrum disorders.
