Salvatore Frequente, head chef unveils the newly refurbished La Brezza at Hotel Eden Roc

UAE, Dubai, April 2014 – Beside the glistening waters of Lake Maggiore, La Brezza, opens its doors once again on 28 March 2014 following an extensive refurbishment at the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona. Salvatore Frequente, previously the Italian Chef at the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz and the Marina lifestyle restaurant at the Hotel Eden Roc, takes on a new role leading culinary operations at La Brezza. As Head Chef of the gourmet restaurant, Frequente will also be participating in the San Pellegrino Sapori Ticino gourmet festival, welcoming guest chef Heiko Nieder from the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich into his kitchen on 27 April 2014. 

Sicilian by birth, Head Chef Salvatore Frequente exercises his profession with passion, choosing local products with great care and attention to quality and origin. Ingredients are drawn from across the Mediterranean basin, making every dish an exotic culinary delight. The excellent, discreet service under the watchful eye of Maître d'hôtel and sommelier Giovanni Ferraris offers the perfect counterpoint to the culinary art. Additionally, a dedicated cellar boasts a selection of 500 different grapes. 

Sapori Ticino – a gourmet festival in Switzerland's sunny south
The eighth edition of the San Pellegrino Sapori Ticino gourmet festival, hosted on 27 April 2014, will see Head Chef Salvatore Frequente joining forces with Heiko Nieder, Head Chef at Dolder Grand Hotel (18 Gault&Millau points and two Michelin stars) for an evening filled with culinary treats in La Brezza. Nieder serves up fresh, innovative gour-met dishes drawing on a wide range of flavours. For 270 Swiss francs per person (ap-prox. EUR 225), guests can enjoy an aperitif with mouth-watering appetisers followed by an elegant tasting menu created especially for this event, accompanied by an ideal se-lection of wines and rounded off with coffee, cigars and cognac. Anyone who wishes to combine this enjoyable evening with a stay at the Hotel Eden Roc can take advantage of the “Sapori Ticino 2014” packages, with prices starting at 495 Swiss francs per person (approx. EUR 410) including a one night's stay with breakfast, a welcome drink at the Eden Bar and free use of the Eden Roc Spa, in addition to the evening event.
