Joining millions around the world, the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai dimmed lights in public areas between 8.30pm and 9.30pm in support of Earth Hour, the global movement of WWF that is bringing awareness to the environment and the need for conservation and sustainability.

The event was observed in more than 162 countries and territories and 7,000 cities on every continent, but its relevance goes beyond the 60 minutes when lights are turned off all over the world, according to General Manager of the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Dubai, Mr Scott Butcher.

“While we are helping to conserve energy for one hour, the main contribution is to boost awareness of the need for everyone to get involved in care for their community and beyond that, care for the natural resources of the world in general,” he said.

“It is becoming a magical moment when lights are turned off on both natural and man-made landmarks from the Pyramids to the Las Vegas Strip, and closer to home, on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and, in our own small way, at the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Dubai.”
