Samsung helps customers save energy in support of Earth Hour

Initiated in Australia in 2007 by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Earth Hour has transformed into an international event in which millions around the globe participate to awareness of environmental issues. On 29 March, between 8.30 – 9.30pm local time, homes, offices and iconic buildings around the world will switch off their lights as a show of their commitment to the planet earth.

As part of our commitment to this end, we develop our products with green values in mind to help our customers achieve the same in their homes. Kitchen appliances often consume the largest portion of energy inside the home, and to this end we have ensured that our products are as energy efficient as possible.

Our latest refrigerator model, the RT6000, uses 47 per cent less energy than conventional models, thanks to its digital inverter. Keeping produce at maximum freshness with optimal energy consumption, the RT6000 is the sensible choice for the resource conscious consumer. Key purchasing decisions such as these can help the planet all year round beyond Earth Hour to help keep the planet green, all the while helping to reduce the dent in your wallet on the arrival of your energy bills at the end of each month.

Likewise, our latest washing machine, the Baikal Combo Washer-Dryer, can help you make savings of up to 70 per cent! With advanced features such as AIR Wash technology and Ecobubble™, your washing load need not require detergent in certain instances, nor hot water, preventing the need for harsh chemicals and energy intensive cycles, all working towards helping to keep the planet green. Of course it also ensures the longevity of your wardrobe, ensuring it is an all round win-win situation!

So this year, we at Samsung urge you to consider all the steps you can take in your home to ensure our planets sustainability to help support Earth Hour's cause.
