Abu Dhabi‘s largest mall on Yas to open in November

Abu Dhabi 25 March 2014:  Abu Dhabi's largest shopping mall will be launched on Yas Island in November as part of major development projects on the island, according to a Yas tourism official

Clive Dwyer, Director, Destination Management on Yas, stressed the importance of participating in the Gulf Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) due to be held in Abu Dhabi during March 24-26.

In remarks to www.hotelandrest.com website, he presented the latest recreation facilities designed to host key events on Yas.

He said the Yas shopping mall would be launched in November and that it is expected to attract a large number of tourists and visitors to the island.

He said the mall has an area of 235,000 square metres and includes 300 shops, adding that its parking area can house 10,000 cars.

“It is the largest shopping mall in Abu Dhabi and the second by area in the UAE…given its location and proximity to Ferrari World, it will be one of the most attractive destinations to visitors,” he said.

He said Yas would sponsor a dinner for nearly 500 GIBTM delegates and that the island continued to record high growth rates, ranging between 15 and 20% last year.

He said Yas has nearly 57 restaurants and is continuing its efforts to attract more guests and become one of the most attractive tourism destinations in the region.

Yas Island is strategically located just around seven minutes from Abu Dhabi airport, 25 minutes from the town centre, 15 minutes from the Abu Dhabi international exhibition centre and 45 minutes from Dubai.
