To Collaborate in Hosting Thought Leadership Events that Spotlight Social Causes

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 18 March, 2014 - ADNOC Distribution, as part of its social responsibility and continued support to initiatives that create broader awareness about various social causes, has announced its support to the community forums and conferences organized by the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) throughout 2014.

Under this priority, ADNOC Distribution will collaborate with SSSD as the gold sponsor for hosting the fifth Social Services Conference in April 2014, the fifth Scientific Forum under the theme ‘Enough Violence' in June 2014, and the third Elderly Services Forum that will mark the International Day of Older Persons on October 3.

Khalid Hadi, Vice-President - Marketing and Corporate Communications Division, ADNOC Distribution, said: “ADNOC Distribution's support to thought leadership events organized by the Sharjah Social Services Department reiterates our conviction to mobilize the participation of national organizations for identifying effective solutions to issues that impact the broader segments of our society and extend a helping hand, especially to the less privileged and marginalized groups.

“Given the significance of such forums in boosting the society's confidence in the role of national institutions involved in community services, we are keen to actively participate in programs that identify best practices for achieving the social welfare of our citizens.”

The Sharjah Social Services Department hosts a number of social forums and conferences that seek to ensure the welfare of the weak and less-privileged groups. As part of its commitment, SSSD provides innovative services that address the psychological, social and health requirements of the lesser privileged. Care-givers are also provided with equal attention in a bid to develop their skills and capacities.
