Commenting on the Free Wi-Fi and parking app among plans to turn Dubai into a Smart City, Geraldine Ahern- principal associate in the Company Commercial department - said:
“The expansion of e-commerce initiatives across the UAE is an exciting development for the region as a whole. The current technological infrastructure will be transformed to allow the e-commerce aims to be realised. Fundamental to this is developing a suitable legislative and regulatory framework, that keeps pace with these advancements.
A robust legislative and regulatory framework will assist technology suppliers and consumers to have confidence in utilising the technology to its full potential and to ensure the technology becomes entrenched in everyday life so that the “smart city” objectives can be truly achieved.”
