Studio 8 launches celebrated designers' talent from Pakistan

Post-Valentine bash exhibits couture insignia in all its glory

Acclaimed for bringing in internationally renowned fashion labels under one roof, Studio 8 celebrated the launch of famous designers from Pakistan at its store.

The Pre-Valentine's bash was attended by the fashion designers from Pakistan to display their designs in Dubai. The launch was held at Studio 8 Jumeirah store amidst glitz and glamour. The show was attended by social elite along with Dubai fashion industry stalwarts, diplomats and invitees.

Pakistani designer labels have established a polished crest in the international fashion industry. Whether emerging or established, its designer brands are admired and have carved a niche globally. With innate desire to promote such boisterous faculty, Studio 8 will showcase works of Zara Shahjahan, Amna Bashir, Nida Azwer, Maheen Kareem, Tena Durrani, Menahil & Mehreen and Nickie Nina.

Speaking about the show, an excited Sarah Belhasa owner of Studio 8 said; “We always love to welcome such culturally rich and aesthetically modern blend in fashion. Each of the designers are a brand in themselves and their works posses an enigmatic charm. We are glad to have them all and look forward to the fashion affair.”

About the Designers:
 

1. Zara Shahjahan – Armed with confidence and dynamism after graduating from the National College of Arts in Lahore, Zara Shahjahan believed in making ensembles sound in feminine aesthetics. The brand is based in Lahore, the hub of fashion in Pakistan. Zara Shahjahan also has an international footprint with stores in the US, UK, India and UAE. The brand is looking at developing business in the rest of the Middle East and South East Asia. Fashion weeks have become a regular feature in Pakistani and Zara Shahjahan has been an active participant. The brand has successfully showcased at the PFDC pret weeks since 2010. Its latest foray into the PFDC bridal week 2013 with the collection ‘True love' was also a major hit.
2. Amna Bashir – Amna Bashir is a stellar example of neoclassic consistent style. Her couture line exudes glamour and she believes in dressing her clientele in the most scintillating designs. She knows that women want to be beautiful so she creates masterpieces for her signature look.
3. Nida Azwer – With labels for Prêt a Porter line, Haute Couture and Bridal Line, Nida is a several coveted awards winning designer with a classic and vintage streak. Critically acclaimed for incorporating exquisite weaves in contemporary styles, Nida has also diversified her portfolio to include a formal Prêt a Porter line for boys and girls.
4. Maheen Kareem – A ready to wear label, Maheen is known to be the country's first to specialize in women's western evening wear and focuses on her creations with eclectic luxury. Her lines ooze regal elegance and her novel cuts have a universal charm. Maheen is known to be one of the finest designers to use spectacular raw materials and superlative craftsmanship obtainable in Pakistan to its fullest.
5. Tena Durrani – Known to be a complete designer for creating casual wear, bridal couture and formals, Tena draws inspiration from art and architecture right from the ancient Mughal era. Her collections are individual, brimming with rich colors and embroidery patterns that are sampled to perfection.
6. Menahil & Mehreen – Sisters and business-partners Menahel Majid and Mehreen Farooq Khan own and run Karachi-based label Menahel and Mehreen which shall be launching its first retail outlet in Pakistan in Spring 2014. The brand encapsulates the spirit of young & trendy fashionista, as well as the classically elegant woman. The pair has been recently awarded the 'Dynamic Designer Duo of the Year Award' by Hello! (Pakistan) Magazine in their January 2014 issue, which stated 'These dynamic siblings have always maintained a low profile, but their work speaks volumes for their creativity and has been in continuous demand by Pakistani fashionistas since 2007.'
7. Nickie Nina – Designer duo Aliya Ali and Nabina Junaid are the driving force behind this enchanting label which is also recognized as the pioneer in women's fashion in Pakistan. Complexity of style, ornamented fabrics and intricate embellishments; Nickie Nina's works are woven with regal aura and majestic glam. Hugely admired and appreciated worldwide, they have also designed exclusively for the royal family of Saudi Arabia.
