Special themed evening at TI'ME hotels to celebrate Chinese New Year - succulent signature Chinese dishes, a pearl of wisdom and ‘red envelopes' up for grabs The ‘mane' event this Thursday will be the celebrations to welcome in the Chinese New Year which starts on Friday 31st January, as the snake makes way for the horse. To mark this auspicious occasion, TI'ME Hotels' is offering special dinner buffets and raffle prizes at both the TI'ME Grand Plaza and the TI'ME Oak Hotel and Suites in Dubai. Guests, couples and families dining at Petals Restaurant at the TIME Oak Hotel & Suites in Tecom, or Brio Restaurant at the TIME Grand Plaza Hotel, Al Qusais, will be treated to a truly authentic oriental feast, with popular traditional dishes, such as Broccoli sweetcorn won ton, vegetable spring rolls, as well as a twist on the more western style delights such as roasted lamb with hoisin sauce. Dessert is a sweet occasion with a selection of sweet pastries, oriental sweets, mousse and mini tarts. If you've still got the room, the restaurants, which will be decorated predominantly in red the colour or symbol of good luck in Chinese culture, and will also offer each guest a little pearl of wisdom, in the form of a fortune cookie wrapped in a red Chinese pocket. As tradition dictates the cookie will contain a wise old Chinese proverb, as TI'ME dictates a raffle ticket will be added to each pocket and guests will have the chance to win some awesome prizes ranging from goodie bags, free dinners and complimentary massages, right the way up to gratis gym memberships. “It is traditional for Chinese children to be given red envelopes containing money, known as hóngbāo in Mandarin, on special occasions such as New Year, the amount will end in an even digit, denoting a happy occasion, according to Chinese beliefs. We won't be giving away any cash, but our raffle prizes will be highly sought after,” said Svetozar Kujic, Marketing and Communications Manager, TI'ME Hotels Management. The evening will be rounded off with some fun language cards which contain useful Mandarin phrases, and if you want to know what ‘Ni cong na li lai?' means you will have book your table at the Brio Restaurant in the TI'ME Grand Plaza or the Petals Restaurant in the TI'ME Oak Hotel and Suites today!
