Bee'ah – the Middle East's leading and award winning integrated environmental and waste management company – is set to exhibit at the global event's seventh edition

Dubai, UAE, 16 January 2014: In line with its mission to spearhead environmental change across the Middle East, Bee'ah – a leading provider of integrated environmental and waste management solutions – will participate in the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2014, held under the theme ‘Powering the Future of Energy Innovation and Investment'. This will mark the fourth time that the company partakes in the event; Bee'ah served as an exhibitor in 2009, 2010 and 2011. The WFES – which this year runs from 20-22 January at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre – is a world-renowned meeting dedicated to renewable energies, energy efficiency and clean technologies.

The summit aims to provide an engaging platform for international manufacturers of environment technology, government representatives, academics and industry experts to discuss different ways to incorporate new and cutting-edge innovations into their business operations.

At the WFES 2014, Bee'ah will showcase its plethora of achievements to date and shed light on its journey towards achieving zero-waste to landfill in the Emirate of Sharjah by 2015 – in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Sharjah to ensure an environmentally-sustainable future for Sharjah to lead environmental change.

In effect, this goal was established as part of the Sharjah-based company's new mandate which calls for the application of international best practices in environmental and waste management throughout the emirate. Meeting this target will catapult the emirate into the Environmental Capital of the Middle East – making it the first Arab city ever to divert 100% of its waste from landfill.

“We are thrilled to be taking part in the WFES, a world-class exhibition that connects industry pioneers – all working together to provide practical and sustainable solutions to future energy challenges,” said His Excellency Salim bin Mohamed Al Owais, Chairman of Bee'ah. “As the Middle East's leading and award winning integrated environmental and waste management company, we, at Bee'ah, have long believed in the power of knowledge and awareness. The WFES is a strong vehicle for action, bringing together key environmental stakeholders – in Abu Dhabi – to address critical matters related to sustainability in the UAE.”

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group Chief Executive Office of Bee'ah, echoed that statement, adding, “Through our participation, we look forward to tackling issues related to waste management, environmental services, environmental awareness and education here in the Middle East. At the summit, we will also be delving deep into the subject of landfill diversion – a topic that has now become synonymous with the Bee'ah name.”

In the past five years, the company's objectives have focused on resource recovery, allowing it to achieve a remarkably high landfill diversion rate. Today, Bee'ah has taken this approach one step further, focusing its efforts on treating waste and converting it into useful material – a strategy that further cements its commitment to achieving zero-waste to landfill by 2015.

Bee'ah continuously invests in exploring solutions and developing systems for the treatment of non-recyclable waste.

In 2013, the company garnered the ‘Best Waste Management Company in the Middle East' title at the annual Facilities Management Awards, for the third consecutive year. Bee'ah also won the ‘Best Solid Waste Management Company of the Year' accolade at the 2013 Green Middle East Awards, for the second year running.

In addition, H.E Salim bin Mohamed Al Owais was named the ‘Environmental Visionary Personality of the Year' in 2013 for his outstanding contributions to the field of sustainability. These numerous awards are further testament to the company's commitment to placing the emirate of Sharjah at the forefront of environmental change and management.
