Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government to be Official Knowledge Partner of Second Government Summit

MBRSG Board of Trustees Launch New Branding and Commend School's 2013 Achievements

Dubai-UAE: 08 January, 2014: The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a premier institution for research and education in public policy in the Arab world, today announced its participation as Knowledge Partner at the second Government Summit that will run from February 10 - 12 in Dubai under the theme ‘Leading Government Services'.

The announcement was made during the sixth meeting of the board of trustees chaired by His Excellency Dr Anwar Al Gargash, head of MBRSG board of trustees in the presence of Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG.

Commenting on the school's participation as Knowledge Partner, Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, said: “MBRSG is honored to participate in the Government Summit for the second year in a row. We are committed towards supporting government performance in the UAE through developing executive education programs that aim to enhance the skills of employees and improve services in all government departments.

“The second Government Summit is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is inspired by his directives to focus on developing creative concepts in providing government services. The Summit aims to bring the public sector and private sector together on a uniquely interactive platform that encourages national and international dialogue in developing innovative customer services concepts aligned to the vision of the UAE's leadership for a happier society through a smarter government.”

The board members also reviewed the school's performance and achievements for 2013 and outlined details of the proposed executive education programs for 2014. Members lauded last year's initiatives including the launch of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program and other leadership courses, as well as the key collaborations that MBRSG had developed with public sector organizations in Dubai and international executive education institutes.

During the meeting, the board members launched MBRSG's new branding represented by its new logo that officially features the school's new name, first announced in July last year “The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government”. Members also approved new strategic goals for the school to be executed in early 2014.

Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, said: “2013 was an eventful year that witnessed some landmark accomplishments at Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government. We had the opportunity to work with the Libyan Government and to launch a first-of-its-kind leadership program. We also had the opportunity to launch our MPA program along with a number of training sessions in collaboration with the government authorities such as Department of Finance, Dubai Quality Group and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.”

Dr Ali added: “In 2014, we aim to consolidate our growth by launching new programs and training courses. We also aim to execute our new and approved strategy that will empower the school at various levels and occasions.”

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government aims to promote good governance through enhancing the institutional capacity for effective public policy. Towards this goal, the School also collaborates with regional and global institutions in delivering its research and training programs. MBRSG organizes policy forums and international conferences as well as seminars and lectures on an ongoing basis to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote critical debate on public policy.
