Ninety-Year-Old Italian Company Celebrates its Presence in the GCC with the Launch of the New Monolithe Island Cooking Range

On December 10, 2013, Angelo Po, the leading Italian producer of cooking ranges, ovens, refrigerators, blast chillers and kitchen accessories for restaurants and hotels, celebrated its presence in Dubai and the GCC with the launch of three new lines: Monolithe, the latest Island Cooking Range, Combistar, the new combioven, and XXX, the latest edition of blast chillers. The exclusive event took place at the Royal Meridien in Dubai, in the presence of representatives of major hotels and restaurant chains, chefs, catering consultants, catering equipment distributors and dealers.

According to Giorgio Pignataro, the Company's resident manager based in Dubai, “Angelo Po is very active in the GCC. My job is to be the eyes and the years of Angelo Po in the market. By meeting with chefs who use our products on a daily basis, and meeting the dealers and consultants who choose equipment for professional kitchens, I am able to understand what the market needs at a very early stage and pass this information to our head office. Our team can react very quickly, creating new products and new strategies to service the GCC market.”

During the event, Ugo Pradella, Angelo Po's corporate chef, demonstrated the potential of the new lines with a cooking show that entertained guests. “The presentation and the set up were extremely well done,” said La Marquise International's Marketing Manager, Darya Yurkina. “The live cooking show by Chef Ugo was entertaining and informative at the same time.”

The enthusiasm was shared by Lloyd Carter, Corporate Chef of the hospitality group Jumeirah, who said, “The launch event was a great demonstration of Angelo Po and its position within the GCC market. There was a strong attendance of key F&B members and I was excited to see the new mono block unit for the first time. It has a strong build quality and great lines, and I was very impressed with the use of colour that radiates Italian design. It was evident that Angelo Po has listened to chefs' feedback on some of the current fixtures and has tweaked designs accordingly. Flexibility of equipment types within the range and layout makes these units exciting and I am keen to cook on one very soon.”

AYLA HOTEL's Cluster Executive Chef K.B.Sailesh commented on the products, “The smoking and pasteurization possibility is quite unique,” and Tim Horton's Senior Supply Chain Manager Kuna Gupta was very keen on the blast freezer.

Angelo Po's products for professional kitchens are distributed in over 30 countries and are available in Dubai and the GCC through the most prestigious catering equipment dealers.
