December, 2013: There are many health concerns that we often take for granted; and the health of our legs is among them.  With a double-digit prevalence of vein problems in men and women over the age of forty, vein health is one of the least recognized medical problems facing healthy adults.  Veins can affect your overall circulation and may impact the health of your heart in the longterm.

Two American surgeons, Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian and Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian, are about to help change that. These expert surgeons have just launched a public media campaign to educate the health conscious about vein problems. Their approach will help educate men and women to seek methods of early prevention to avoid longterm health problems.

The most common misconception about spider and varicose veins are that they represent a cosmetic problem.”Not true,” says cardiovascular and vein surgeon Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian, “abnormal veins on the legs and thighs may represent an early warning sign for other cardiovascular problems.” If left untreated, vein disease may progress to a more serious medical issue necessitating intervention.

Drs. Karamanoukian have have been instrumental in educating patients from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.  “The standard of healthcare in the Gulf now allows patients to emphasize preventative care as a major component of their global health,” adds Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian.'We are seeing more and more patients from the Middle East who travel to the United States to seek expert vein treatment.'

The Vein Treatment Center in New York and the Santa Monica Vein Center in Los Angeles provide comprehensive preventative and corrective vein therapies. Both bicoastal centers provide minimally-invasive treatment parameters that can improve vein health as well as cosmetic vein problems. The goal…to relieve symptoms of discomfort in the legs, prevent blood clots and DVT, improve the cosmetic appearance of the legs, and improve the circulation.

About Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian and Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian

Both Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian and Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian offer comprehensive treatments in vein therapy in the United States. As diplomats of the American Board of Phlebology (Vein Surgery), they have been instrumental in the publication and promotion of multiple textbooks related to vein health.  Patients in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are encouraged to contact the surgeons for treatment or to schedule a lecture series for health professionals.
