Abu Dhabi, UAE - November 27, 2013: LeasePlan Emirates, a joint venture between Mubadala and LeasePlan Corporation (51% Mubadala, 49% LeasePlan Corporation), the world's leading vehicle leasing and fleet management company, recently announced partnership with first Filipino global runner Cesar Guarin on his quest to cross UAE's seven emirates by running everyday for three weeks between 22nd November and 13th December 2013.
During Guarin's 700-km run which is part of his mission to be the fourth person to run 42,000 kilometers around the world, LeasePlan has provided a company branded car, equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS), which serves as the runner's support vehicle.
Hicham Boueri, Commercial Director, LeasePlan Emirates said, “Cesar Guarin, known as the “Father of the Ultramarathon” in the Philippines, has been running for decades to show his appreciation to Filipino Overseas Workers (OFW) and to encourage everyone to pursue their dreams. LeasePlan is grateful to be part of this noble cause which aims to inspire not only Filipinos but also other nationalities based in this region.”
Cesar Guarin has successfully completed some of his global run stages accumulating a total running distance of 17,377 kilometers and recently completed his recent GR7: Middle East run, where he ran 932 kilometers from Bahrain to Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE.
