Dubai, UAE, 27 November, 2013: Thursday nights take on a new spin with the launch of the ‘Thursday Tapas Supper' at Umai, the contemporary Asian restaurant at The Oberoi, Dubai. Journey through the spice routes of the Orient with Chef Nakagawa and his talented team including Qweena, the award-winning dim sum champion and Crystal, the resident kung fu tea master who dazzles guests with a ceremonial tea performance. Diners will enjoy an interactive dining experience set to a soundtrack of chill-out beats, with a live sushi and sashimi station, a sizzling teppanyaki grill, dim sum freshly prepared in the open kitchen and main courses served à la carte as well as tapas style dishes and tasty finger food presented to the table by the chefs. Delicacies include edamame dumplings, dynamite shrimp wonton, pandan leaf fried chicken, soft shell crab served with chimichurri sauce, foie gras with teriyaki sauce and daikon radish, tiger prawn teppanyaki with shiso genovese sauce and parmesan cheese, fresh oysters with shiso and ponzu vinegar, okonomyaki - a savoury pancake which literally translates as ‘what you like grilled' and the popular Japanese snack, takoyaki. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert selection ranges from a chocolate fountain with a choice of milk or white chocolate and homemade marshmallows, mandarin mousse with vanilla bean cream, yuzu spheres on caramel soil, pandan eclairs, kaffirlime baked yoghurt, mango pudding with passion fruit cream and green tea mousse cake The Thursday Tapas Supper is served at Umai from 7.30pm every week.
