In line with its responsible business efforts, Radisson Blu Resort, the leading five star hotel in Sharjah has continued its support to the EEG Can Collection Campaign held at 16 Nov 2013.

In an emirate like Sharjah where it produces 1.8 million wastes annually, this campaign raised awareness and ultimately provided the motivation to protect and safe guard our environment among students. The campaign had resulted in a collection of 240 Kgs of cans.

The hotel has been a regular supporter of the campaign since 2004 and each campaign held throughout the years earned a milestone in the history of the organization.

Students and Teachers from several schools, families, and individuals from different parts of Sharjah came together on the day of the drive to support EEG's mission to protect the environment.

Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah made the necessary arrangements to make the event an enjoyable and meaningful one. Juices & snacks were provided to the participants and to the RB volunteers as they helped in unloading and weighing the bag of cans.

Commented Zaheen Abbas, Responsible Business Manager of the Hotel “Responsible Business is in our DNA and we are proud of what we have achieved so far.   Thanks to EEG's sustainability initiatives we are able to make an impact on the environment and the community around us”

After the success of this campaign, activities have planned for the coming month such as Tree Planting, Walk to Work Campaign and Clean up UAE Campaign. Special focus would also be given to support the UAE green festival held next year.
