World famous shopping destination Regent Street, London, W1 is pleased to announce this year's Christmas lights will depict the brand new DreamWorks animated film Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Released in cinemas by 20th Century Fox on 7 Feb, this must-see family adventure comedy sees Mr. Peabody, the world's smartest talking dog, and his adopted human son, Sherman, embark upon an outrageous adventure through the most iconic moments in world history.

The Regent Street Christmas displays are a London tradition dating from 1948 when the Regent Street Association first decorated the street with Christmas trees. Lighting was not allowed until 1949, following the lifting of wartime restrictions, and the first full lighting display began in 1954.

This year Glasshouse Street, the pedestrianised area in the recently developed Regent Street Quadrant, will also have Christmas decorations.

Regent Street will be traffic-free to get the party started with a catwalk fashion show featuring many of the famous Regent Street fashion brands, including Jaeger, Austin Reed, Calvin Klein, Tom Hilfiger, Juicy Couture, Hawes & Curtis, Brooks Brothers, Sebago and Camper, starting at 3pm, will run throughout the afternoon.

HEART 106.2 presenters Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston will head a star-studded line up leading into the big switch on moment where Regent Street will be lit up by the amazing Christmas lights and a spectacular pyrotechnic display to launch Christmas in London's West End.

David Shaw, Head of Regent Street Portfolio at The Crown Estate said:  'Regent Street is thrilled about its Christmas lights partnership with 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks. The animated film Mr. Peabody and Sherman is a perfect match for our Christmas lights celebrations in that it supports our values of quality, heritage style and success. The festive shopping season always kicks off with the Regent Street Christmas lights, and this year we have delivered yet more exciting new retailing including Longchamp, J. Crew, & Other Stories and United Nude Shoes”.
Chris Green, Theatrical Marketing Director at Twentieth Century Fox, said. “We're extremely excited to be sponsoring the biggest ever Christmas light display on Regent Street with our new family adventure comedy from DreamWorks animation, Mr. Peabody & Sherman.  On Saturday 9 November there will be an all-day road closure for VIPeabody Day which will include fun-filled entertainment for the entire family with a fireworks display following the switch-on moment.  We can't wait to introduce Mr. Peabody & Sherman's time traveling adventures;  it's a must-see for the entire family – in cinemas February 7”.
