Dubai, 26 September 2013 - Spielwarenmesse literally translates to Toy fair and the name spielwarenmesse has even become a registered trademark in Germany since 2013. Held in Nurnberg, Germany every year since its foundation in 1950 by a group of farsighted entrepreneurs from the toy industry, the toy fair has evolved into an unmissable global meeting point for 2747 exhibitors from 60 countries and 72,595 visitors from 113 countries and growing.

Now the upcoming 65th Spielwarenmesse is taking on a new, larger dimension! The trade fair is going to increase its exhibition space to 170,000 m2 when opening the Hall 3A at the Nuremberg exhibition Centre from 29 January to 3 February 2014. The world renowned Zaha Hadid Architects have designed a hall on an area of approximately 9000 m2 thereby starting a new chapter in building design and energy efficiency.

The German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce in Dubai has had a long partnership with Spielwarenmesse since it took over the representation in 2002. As the local representative of the toy fair in the UAE, Oman & Qatar, the AHK acts as the contact point for all interested visitors and exhibitors from the region and assists them with their participation.

Each year sees a large number of visitors from the region going to Nurnberg and in order to maintain and further strengthen this relationship, the spielwarnemesse international dialogue tour had a stop in Dubai on 24th September 2013. An event was organized at the Jumeirah Creek side Hotel where around 25 guests from the vibrant local toy industry were treated to a colourful and exciting presentation by Mr. Christian Ulrich, Director Marketing, spielwarenmesse EG.

The meeting started off with an introduction by Ms Sruthi Sreedharan, Country representative, Spielwarenmesseeg. The floor was then handed over to Mr. Ulrich who took the guests through all the events and activities taking place around the fair and what to expect and most importantly not miss out on. Some of the highlights of 2014 include the premiere of the new Hall 3A which will host the Trend Gallery. New Exhibitor Center, Toy award, toy business forum and young innovative companies as well as the expanded focus on baby & infant articles. The global toy conference which takes place on 1 Feb 2014 also attracts a lot of attention from experts worldwide and provides specialist retailers with a solid knowledge of trends and lots of inspiration for a successful business year.

The presentation set the mood of some active discussion among the guests which continued during the lunch buffet that was served afterwards.
