20 top Australian universities will be taking part in IDP's Australian education exhibition, which is set to begin in Jordan on 11th September 2013. The exhibition which will be held across the Middle East will give prospective students and their families a chance to meet and interact with university representatives and international officers from a number of top universities across Australia. Some of the universities that will be represented include those from the group of eight such as University of Melbourne, Monash University, and University of New South Wales. Australia is one of the top three destinations globally for international students who make up over 20% of the total student population in the country. This popularity as a destination has been growing in 2013 with student enrolments up 3.3% over the same time last year. Maher El Bakry, Regional Director of IDP Education in the Middle East said “The Australia Open Day is a unique opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students across the Middle East to learn first-hand about the excellent educational opportunities available in Australia.” Courses such as business management and engineering have always been popular with students from the Middle East, however recently there has been an increase in more specialized degrees such as media studies, communications and logistics and supply chain management.
