Radisson Hotels “Go Red for Women” with Mountain High's Seven Summit Attempt

Radisson is supporting a United Arab Emirates-based husband and wife team of the inspirational-motivators, Mountain High, as they trek one of the world's Seven Summits to raise awareness for the global “Go Red for Women” initiative, which teaches the public about the risks of heart disease. If successful, they will become the first couple from the UAE to reach the summit of Europe's highest peak, Mount Elbrus, in Russia, which stands at 5,650m above sea level.

Jules Lewis, of the husband and wife team, said, “We are delighted that Radisson has come on board to support our climb with accommodation while we are in Russia. We look forward to returning to share our pictures and stories from the climb at a “Go Red for Women” event, to be held at one of the Radisson Blu Hotels in Dubai.  The event will be a great opportunity to share the message of  the importance of heart health to a wider audience and inspire others to challenge themselves.'

Jules and Calin Lewis are currently undertaking pre-trek preparations, with hiking sessions in the icy conditions at Mall of Emirates' Ski Dubai and fitness training at the Yas Island Circuit, Abu Dhabi. Over the course of the next two months, a Facebook page dedicated to the climb will keep followers updated day-by-day on their progress, via pictures and video clips.  The climb will take the couple eight days to complete, with the summit day scheduled for 31st July.

For the supporting hotels, Radisson Royal Hotel, St Petersburg and Radisson Blu Belorusskaya Hotel, Moscow,  the “Go Red for Women” climb was a welcomed opportunity to partner on helping to increase the public knowledge of heart health, globally. As part of the Rezidor Hotel Group, the hotels share the group's internal Responsible Business Programme, which dates back to the year 1989. In 2001, Rezidor was one of the first international hotel companies to introduce a group-wide programme consisting of three main pillars: health and safety of guests and employees, respect for social and ethical issues within the company, and a reduced environmental footprint.
