Emirates Modern Poultry partners with Dubai Autism Center

Dubai, UAE, 14th July 2013 – Emirates Modern Poultry, better known as Al Rawdah, subsidiary of Emirates Rawabi Group, is pleased to announce its partnership with Dubai Autism Center.

Currently the largest producer of fresh chicken and processed meat products in the UAE, Al Rawdah Poultry, together with Dubai Autism Center, will raise awareness and launch fundraising campaigns on autism within the UAE community.

As part of the partnership, consumers contribute AED1 to help a child with Autism for every purchase of Al Rawdah frozen processed products. In addition, Al Rawdah fresh portions will bear a sticker to promote the initiative and bring awareness.

Jeanette Kristensen Alhaider, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Emirates Modern Poultry Co. said “We aim to make a real difference in the organisations that we support. Through partnering with Dubai Autism Center, we hope to raise awareness on how early intervention, attention and care can greatly aid children with Autism Spectrum disorder.”

“The partnership with Al Rawdah is significant in terms of spreading awareness and reaching out to the vast majority of our community. Awareness is the first step towards identifying the issue and commencing the appropriate intervention program that will enable each child to reach his full potential. It also helps society members to accept these children and accommodate their needs. We appreciate Al Rawdah's efforts and are confident that their long term commitment to our cause will make a big difference in the lives of many families,” commented Ms. Hayula Mourad, Business Support and Communication unit head of Dubai Autism Center.

Autism is a lifelong neurobiological disorder that impairs communication, social interaction and the way individuals perceive the world around them. Children with autism have difficulty in verbal and non-verbal communication. One out of every 88 children will have Autism.

Founded in 2001, Dubai Autism Center is the largest and most comprehensive nonprofit organization in the UAE catering to the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dubai Autism Center currently caters to 46 students, and will attend to 60 students in the next academic year, and still has more than 260 on the waiting list.
